Our Story
Inspired by his parents’ one-acre azalea nursery, Mike Hudson incorporated Sampson Nursery in 1985 after graduating from North Carolina State University. Mike Hudson and his team have worked to build a nursery with more than forty acres in the production of over 300 different varieties of plants. With the dedication from Mike and his team Sampson Nursery prides itself on taking time to propagate, prune, and pot each plant carefully by hand, ensuring that each customer receives quality they can grow on.

Office manager, sales rep, and marketing guru, Joanna is your go-to for nursery inquiries! You can catch her in the nursery, camera in hand when she is out of the office.
Bobby Rackley
If you’ve ever received a delivery from us, chances are Bobby is the man who made it happen! With over 20 years of green industry experience, Bobby handles sales, customer orders, integrated pest and nursery management.
Kevin Hughes
Head of propagation, Kevin’s 20 plus years of experience in the green industry help to produce quality plants time and time again. In addition to propagation management, Kevin assists with sales and nursery management.
Jon Gregory
Irrigation master and staff organizer Jon is our nursery production manager. With over 30 years of experience in the green industry, Jon’s attention to detail keeps the nursery running smoothly.
